Chicago photographer Victor Skrebneski died on April 4, 2020, at the age of 90, after an acclaimed career that lasted 70 years, according to obituaries in the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times.
"He had an ability to read your personality, read your character, read your mind," Treasurer Maria Pappas told the Sun-Times. "Then he would photograph you, and the photograph captured who you really were."
Pappas, who was a subject of Skrebneski's several times, told the Tribune, "It wasn't about the photographs, it was about the relationship."
