As many as 31,000 senior citizens could save hundreds of dollars immediately on their property tax bills due August 1 by applying for exemptions they previously received, Treasurer Maria Pappas said during an interview with Perri Small of WVON/1690-AM.

Homeowners can check their property tax exemptions and apply for any missing exemptions by going to cookcountytreasurer.com, Pappas said. “We’ve made this possible through technology.”
