Evanston Residents Respond to Effects of Tax Bill

Daily Northwestern

Nearly 4,000 Evanston residents prepaid their Cook County property taxes in December, in a bid to delay the one of the effects of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the Daily Northwestern reported.

In January, Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas removed the $1 fee to pay property taxes online using a bank account, a change designed to boost the growing number of taxpayers who make electronic payments.
