Prepaying Your Property Taxes? When Trump Signs Bill Makes Little Difference

County treasurers in the Chicago area are seeing a rush of homeowners seeking to prepay their property taxes because of the federal income tax bill, the Daily Herald reported.

Some treasurers’ offices are experiencing lines of taxpayers. When news of the federal changes began to surface, Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas moved quickly to change her website to accommodate the surge of prepayments that she expected.

“We started to feel the rumble and we assigned 20 people in the last few weeks to reprogram everything,” Pappas said.
